Most visitors leave Antalya at the end of September, and that is exactly why autumn works so well. The sea keeps the summer's heat for weeks, daytime temperatures drop to the comfortable twenties, and the places that are unbearable in August - ruins, canyons, the old town - become the best part of the trip.

Autumn weather in Antalya

MonthDay / nightSeaWhat it feels like
Octoberabout 27 °C / 16 °Cabout 24 °CSummer without the heat - beach days are still normal
Novemberabout 21 °C / 11 °Cabout 21 °CSunny mornings, the first rain showers, cool evenings

Pack for the beach and for the evening: a light jacket is enough in October, a warmer layer and a rain shell are sensible in November.

Still a beach holiday: October on the coast

In October the beaches of Konyaaltı, Lara, Belek, Side and Alanya are still open, the water is often warmer than the air in the morning, and sunbeds are no longer a competition. Most large resorts in Belek, Side and Kemer stay open until the end of October; from November the choice narrows, so confirm your hotel's season before booking flights.

Ancient sites without the heat

Autumn is the season for the region's ruins. Perge and Aspendos lie a short detour from the Belek and Side road, Side's Temple of Apollo stands at the edge of the harbour, and Termessos, high in the mountains behind the city, is a walk that nobody should attempt in summer. In November you may have whole streets of colonnades to yourself.

Golf, city life and festivals

Autumn is peak golf season in Belek: the courses are green, the temperatures are ideal and tee times fill up with groups from northern Europe. In the city, Kaleiçi's lanes, cafés and small museums come back to life once the cruise and summer crowds have gone, and Antalya's Golden Orange Film Festival has traditionally been held in the autumn.
