Antalya is busy for roughly seven months and quiet for five, and the difference shows up long before you reach the beach - in flight prices, airport queues and the traffic on the D400.
April to May: the value window
Sea temperatures climb through May, daytime highs sit in the twenties, and the coast road is empty by summer standards. Flights land at civilised hours and the terminal clears quickly. This is also when a drive to Alanya or Kaş is genuinely pleasant rather than an endurance test.
June to August: peak
July and August are hot, full and expensive. Antalya Airport handles its heaviest traffic, passport control and baggage take the longest, and the coast road carries both holiday traffic and local weekend movement. This is when a fixed price and a tracked pickup earn their keep: nothing on the road is predictable, so the parts you can fix in advance are the ones worth fixing.
September to October: the best compromise
The sea is at its warmest, the crowds thin week by week, and prices fall from mid-September. Many regulars consider late September the single best week of the year on this coast. Transfers run close to their nominal times again.
November to March: quiet season
Daytime temperatures stay mild, many beach resorts close, and the city, the mountains and the ruins take over from the coast. Flight choice narrows and arrival times get less convenient - which is exactly when a pre-booked vehicle beats improvising at the terminal.
What the season changes about your transfer
- Peak summer: allow up to 45 minutes from landing to leaving the terminal, and expect longer driving times east of Manavgat.
- Shoulder season: the published driving times are realistic.
- Winter: fewer flights and more night landings, so confirm the flight number and let the pickup follow it.
- All year: the fixed price per vehicle does not change with season, traffic or time of day.
